Features of
Stereo Realist Camera
PROS... Coupled rangefinder is split-field type with an exceptionally
wide base for greater accuracy. Focusing is internal. Range: 2-1/2' to infinity. The view
finder with direct vision has the objective lens midway between the camera lenses
completely eliminating all parallax problems and rendering an image that is erect and
un-reversed. Greatest name recognition; well constructed; has various models and lens
combinations offering higher levels of quality; the brand which has the most accessories
made for the camera; has full range of slow speeds, including T&B; viewfinder between
taking lenses for no parallax problems.
CONS....Awkward to use; awkward to hold; depending on the model, has 3 or
4 separate actions between shots (buttons to push, knobs to turn, levers to slide, levers
to pull & push); f3.5 models (except for Super Ilex Paragon) have only 1/150 as
fastest speed; separate windows for viewfinder & rangefinder
