What is a View-Master Run ID Reel?
In the Portland, Oregon View-Master factory, as the View-Master reels were produced on the automatic machines, the stacks of the just completed reels would be removed from the machine and temporarily stored awaiting packaging. These seperate stacks of reels would be marked with run information. This was written on the back of the top reel in the stack.

Each top reel had a hand-written notation in ink on the back with run date, start up time, and workers' initials. This reel was usually discarded before packaging of the reels.

But a Portland employee rescued these reels and today it is a bit of history for View-Master collectors.

These pieces of View-Master history are interesting and affordable to own. Each reel is being sold individually. Each reel has its own unique handwritten notation, some reels have more information than others and a white sleeve is provided with each reel. Condition is excellent for all reels.
